Mixed vegetables in a hot chilli beef sauce, with fried crispy noodles and peppered steaks. Sweating over a hot stove frying noodles, is the longest I have spent in the kitchen for months. Lovely meal though, I should do it more often. Its about 10 to 1 on that I wont.

Dinner was quite an adventure last night and I was worried that the neighours would phone the fire brigade. I put foil on the grill top to catch any spillage from the hot rings on the stove top. I went to change it the other day, but never had enough foil to do the job. I forgot to get some yesterday and last night when I put the grill on, the stove top fired up. I put a couple of my cast iron pans over until it burnt out, but there was a lot of smoke going out the window. I dont know why people panic when they get a stove fire, stoves are made to get hot. As long as you contain the flames, it will go out eventually. At least I didn't need that Evergreen 747 fire extinguisher. I guess I wiill remember to get some foil today and get the stove cleaned up again. At least the pork steaks had a nice smokey flavour.

I had cod and chips last night. I 've got a nice big thick cut rump steak for tonight. None of them bottled sauces for me, just lots of English mustard. I might not be allowed to say that, so I use Colmans multi-cultral mustard. Make my own out of powder, its always better than the jars. Perhaps I should get myself a mustard powder monkey.

My ultra special beef stew tonight. I made it yesterday, to let the spices soak right into the steak.

I think you have got it the wrong way round Elvis, you seem to have fish a chips every day except Fridays. If you want a change, you change the colour of the sauce.

I had the remains of a roast chicken with most of the breast meat still on it. I chopped it up, put it in a pot with a load of veg and a Knorr Beef Stock Pot. I boiled it down to gumption last night and boiled it up a couple of times today. Then tonight I added another load of veg, 2 large chopped onions and some likkle baby potatoes. It was the boofullest dinner I had for a long time.
