The Sand Boys were lads from the east end of London, who scratched a living on the banks of the Thames looking for treasure. Looking for anything that would earn them a crust of bread in reality. They were mostly known as Mud Larks, like in the old movie, The Mud Lark. Among themselves and their families, they were known as Sand Boys. That's the story as told to me by my old thingyney granddad. They were always supposed to be happy, but I think hungry would have been more apt.

Plaster came off today - hoorah! The foot still looks swollen, but at least I can scratch my leg now
Be a week or two before I can wear shoes again I reckon, but I'm not bothered now it's officially on the mend

The other ones fine :-p
The broken ankle one is still swollen. I measured my calf on the good leg 14" - but it's 18" on the other!

The bone seems to have healed, but tendon damage (?) is taking a long time to recover from and the swelling is only down to 17" (from 18")
I walked back from town a few days ago and it took me an hour - normally takes 20 minutes at a brisk pace, but I can't do brisk just yet
