It not my fault they cant set their meters right Lynnrose. Their financial year finishes at the end of the year and not April. I suppose they think that people need heat more now than in the spring. If they havent taken enough money off you during the year, they keep cutting you off until you have made up the difference.
I suppose it is my fault in a way, after he cut me off the other day, I ripped the fibre optic cable out of the meter. I didn't check properly and there was a second cable. Athough he couldn't read the meter he could still cut me off. He wont do it again, I've ripped both cables out of the wall, smashed them and put them back in the wall. They will have to rip out about 50 foot of cables and replace them to repair the break. Mine is one of the few meters in the street that can be read from outside. The cowboys broke most of the fibre optics when they installed them about 12 years ago. You only need to put a bit of a kink in a fibre optic to break it.
They charged me £484 for hot water last year, my heating hadn't been on for 2 years and that was just washing water. If I had used the heating, I would have had to sell both my kidneys and liver to pay the bill. They cut me off and collected £250 in 2 weeks like they have this year. When they sent me my bill they said I still owed them £12 odd. I would have thought even a complete moron could set a meter better than that. I could heat my flat better and cheaper with electric, but you cant opt out of the scheme and they charge you so much a day just to have their junk in the house. When you count the water rates, I spend more on water per year than I do beer and I dont even drink it.

"Good morning" Ken.
It's a fine bright morning here ( Sheffield area) but it's also a wee bit chilly.
Wasn't conscious in the small hours so don't know if it was raining.
Best wishes.
Marcus.

Hello Ken.
The weather we are having just now is B-awful, it's hissing down and also very windy. I've had a quote for re-felting a large shed ( casualty of previous gales) £150. Told them to proceed, (I'm not shelling out!) will be done Monday, weather permitting.
Best wishes.
Marcus

Apart from the shortness of the day, its been almost spring like today. It might be lulling the birds into a false sense of security, I saw doves strutting their stuff on the roof in front of my kitchen. Naturally they had cleared off by the time I got my camera. I have seen the wrens about today as well, they nest in a garden opposite me. All I need now is the magpies to show up, they nest in the same garden. Theres a black bird playing in the magpies tree, he wont stay long if they do show up. For some reason, the magpies dont bother the wrens and they do get quite aggressive with some other birds. They must know the wrens are not a threat to their eggs. The magpies must leave the wrens eggs alone, or there wouldn't be any to come back each year.

Its been thick cloud all day. I haven't actually seen it rain, but it must have done judging by the wet ground. It wouldn't have been a very nice day out even if it didn't rain. Its going to pour very shortly, because I have got to go to the shop.
