IE has always been part of the operating system and way back it was a fashion statement to say you were running something different. Since 64 bit became pretty much the norm, Adobe caused a problem by not having 64 bit Flash. Now Adobe have got off their arses, IE x 64 is as good as anything else. The people who say its not; are either deluding themselves, or have never tried IE since version 6. To get full speed out of it, you need to turn off all the unnecessary built in security. Then everyone keeping their computers clean and very well protected, you would automatically do that anyway.
I dont particularly like Chrome, but I've got Virgin as an ISP and I need something other than IE for their website. I quite often use Nottingham City Council website and they insist on Chrome for some reason. It could be that Chrome has got Flash built in and not everyone from Nottingham even know what Flash is. I installed Chrome as it suited both websites.
I have used Firefox when I needed to have a HTML editor handy. Unless you use the addons on a regular basis, I dont see any benefit in using it. It will do a lot of things; but unless you want to do a lot of things, its just a waste of space. I work on the basis of only installing what I need; to install a mass of programs on the off chance, is only inviting trouble. Browser addons can be particularly dangerous, not all are what they seem at first sight and its best to seek advice before installing them.
