I use MSN Premium most of the time and IE 7.5 x 64 some of the time. I only use Firefox, if I want to use the HTML editor. MSN might seem a strange choice, but it suits me and it does everything it says on the box.

Firefox by default occasional use of IE7 for certain irritatingly non standards compliant sites and Opera on the Wii console!

I have IE8 now and I do like it but I still prefer firefox. You can customise it a lot more and I think it is quicker as well but if your used to IE then 8 is quite good,

I think over the years Ive used just about all the browsers i could find from popular ones like FireFox to obscure ones like TorPark but one i have used for a long time now is Maxthon its a shell for IE but with a much better scripting engine, very customisable and i use Auto Refresh (in the right click menu on each tab) a lot (see fig 1) so i think i will say Maxthon is my favorite browser fig 1

We have two BIG fans of Maxthon on the boards...Buzzy and Larry, so if you have any questions about it, they are the ones to ask.
I always used Internet Explorer, but I have changed over to Firefox as I was having trouble doing our daily jigsaws with the page not rendering. In Firefox, the jigsaws work fine x

Up to a few days ago I didnt use anything other that !E8, and happy with it, then a few days ago while downloading Skype, i then realised that it also came with google chrome. So keeping my default as IE8, i opened google chrome, and was pleased to see an improved speed, then popped along to backgammon site on msn, only to read that it didnt meet the minimum requirements needed to play. It recommended !E8................the reason Im posting this message was that I thought this chrome thingy lol, was fairly new and after IE8..............anyway i will keep !E8 as my default, and occassionaly use the other google chrome for something else, maybe like reading the press lol

Its almost 2 years since I posted on this string and I still using the butterfly browser, its version 10 now. As a second browser I've been using IE9 x 64 almost since it first came out in BETA. Athough I was using the x 86 version most of the time, until Adobe sorted out the Flash for 64 bit.

I still use Firefox, but I often install Flock too because it appears faster www.flock.com/"Powered by Mozilla and Chromium" It claims It's kind of like what Maxthon did for IE

Clara - welcome to CIT. I am a dedicated Maxthon Fan and I use both Maxthon 2.5.26 and also Maxthon 3.0.20.500. Whereas Maxthon 3 is still very much in the development stage it is out of beta and is "Fast and free! More than 500 million downloads worldwide!" maxthon.com/

I am thinking of installing another browser in addition to Maxthon3 on my laptop. I am considering giving Opera a try, (Win 7 Home 64bit) has anyone any experience of this browser, I would welcome any comments.

When M$ offered us all that choice a while ago, I did a review of each of the browsers on offer. It was posted in the Browser Choice thread. I tried each browser for a few days each and was testing how convienent it was to migrate from IE. This was the result I got for Opera. But remember, it was subjective and I don't think it won anyone over, as far as I know. But these were my impressions which is what you asked for. Opera Extra features: 3/10 Compared to IE 8/10 Worth migrating 4/10 Switching from IE 7/10 Ease of use 8/10 Opera Plain looking browser. Minimum of buttons visible. Links bar can be loaded, called Personal bar. Bookmarks need to be imported manually from File Import New tab opened with shift. Blank tabs opened easily. Tabs open nicely, though the most recently opened is on top. A spell checker is included. A British version was downloaded automatically. When opened, the pages from the previous browsing are loaded automatically. There are a few tools to customise the browser. Also, a selection of what are called Widgets. These are just Opera's versions of Microsoft's Desktop gadgets, clocks, and such. I've heard this is an impressive browser. But I'm afraid I can't find out why. Perhaps the really impressive stuff is hard to find. Read more: computertypes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=firefox&action=display&thread=3806#ixzz2BCpqtbWE
