It reads a bit too much like a glorified Ubuntu advert for far too many pages for my liking, and when you do eventually get to the 'nitty gritty', it's a bit sparse on genuinely useful facts and seems targetted at improvers rather than raw beginners.
Worth a look though, thanks for posting the link

I like your new dress sweetheart ;o)
I do appreciate you finding these things you know, but I can't help being truthful either
The problem is, that a lot of Linux people seem to forget their own frustrations at learning a new OS, and once they've mastered it a bit, they forget what a pain it was to start with and talk over a lot of beginners heads.
I remember one so called expert telling me the joys of 'grep' (a search command) were a must learn thing I couldn't possibly live without. Well I've been using Linux for over 6 years now and I've still never used it. Possibly because I understand the Linux directories (folders) a lot better than he does. I've never used search in Windows either because files can only be in a limited number of folders both in Windows and Linux, so it's not exactly rocket science to look in the obvious places instead of searching a whole hard drive

Thankyou Mikkh x
No problem Mikkh, I like to get your feedback on links etc It's good for members to have some useful information from someone like you
I must admit I do use 'Windows search' when I know I have a file somewhere but just cannot find it anywhere.
