H! Mikkh,
I have just downloaded an ISO of Linux Mint to put on a USB stick. Do I have to burn it onto a USB stick, or can I just dope it onto a USB stick?

Sorry only just been informed of a new thread - well done proboards! You need to make it bootable by using special software dedicated to that task. I use Belena Etcher available here ...... etcher.balena.io/Just run it, select the ISO image and drive (should be auto selected, but double check) then press flash.

H! Mikkh, Thanks for your help. I will do it tonight and let you know how I get on. I am sure it will not be a problem.

Well, that's a good program. Mikkh went on my USB stick no problem just got to finger out the bios now the new bios are good but I like the old type which you can use a lot better.
Thanks, Mikkh

Yes can be tricky, even for me. It's supposed to be easier with mouse access but there are lots of sub menus to sort through and non standard entries that depend on whether it's an Intel or AMD motherboard.
