I may have mentioned once or twice in the past my amusement, incredulity and sheer disbelief at the prices being asked for computer hardware on Facebook Marketplace.
Lack of knowledge might excuse a few, but there are lots of Del Boy types trying to exploit people. The classic being putting old parts in a fancy new case and passing it off as newer hardware.
Today's belly laugh (I'm easily amused) comes from the former who admits to "not being too clued up about computers"
It's listed as a 'gaming computer' but then proves it's definitely not anything of the sort with a 14 year old processor (Windows 7 era) and no graphics card!
For this peach of a PC they're asking £150, which they're definitely not going to get. Take £100 off and it's still a bit pricey for what is basically an internet browsing machine for someone who's desperate and been asleep for a decade.
Fit an SSD and it would still be usable as a basic surfing machine, but gaming - no!

Today's genius is selling an iPhone 12 for £280 and insists quite vehemently in the title that he will take no offers and block anyone who tries to haggle with him.
It also includes my least favourite addition at the bottom - "needs gone asap". Why do an ever increasing number of people put this nowadays? Apart from the poor English, it just reads as "needs money" to me. It's not an incentive for anyone to buy it, it just looks desperate and like a pampered child's selfish bleating.
£280 is fairly cheap for an iPhone 12, or would be if it fully worked. Turns out it doesn't - who knew!
Apparently you can't hear phone calls unless you switch to speaker. Apart from that it's in perfect condition!
No it's not mate, it's broken and you've probably already been quoted some ridiculous price to fix it.
So regrettably I'm going to pass on this particular 'bargain' and look elsewhere.

Today's contestant in the that doesn't make sense category goes to the owner of a Goggle Pixel 7 Pro with a smashed back (but otherwise working fine) for £250
He states he's been quoted £30 to fix it, which I very much doubt, but even if it costs double/treble that, then the logical thing would be fix the back and sell it as a fully working phone.
It's last years model so obviously it's worth fixing and looking it's best before trying to sell it. They're still selling it for £849 on the Google store, or trying to anyway so with a fixed back it's got to be worth £400-£450 surely?
Ah well, another tempting offer I'll not be going for then.

Been a while and don't think that's because people are asking sensible prices now - they're not, still so many dreamers about.
Today's candidate is selling a gaming machine very fast !!! (his emphasis, not mine) but it turns out to be an ugly old server that probably weighs a ton and has no chance of playing modern games.
No graphics card is mentioned, but there are no on-board graphics on the CPU seen in the properties screenshot, so it must have one fitted. I'm guessing it's pretty old because the price is too low to have anything good fitted. Probably an old 1 or 2 GB card meant for business use.
And while it does have 32 GB of RAM, that was fairly standard for a server 10 years ago.
So for the bargain price of £230, you can own a "gaming machine" that is really an old server only capable of moderate office work. It would make a good Linux machine though ;o
Realistic price would be £60 - £80, depending on what else is included.
