Amazon's devices are pretty reasonable value mostly, but a discount is always good right?
The new faster 7 inch tablet came with a new higher price of £60 when historically it was always £50 for the smallest model - End of Summer sale price now £40 (all prices rounded up, nobody falls for this 39.99 nonsense)
The largest 10 inch model falls from £150 to £95 - that's quite a saving.
The usual caveats apply for Amazon tablets, no Google play store etc, but that's not a problem for casual or first time tablet users these are aimed at. You can still get the popular apps like Youtube, Facebook, TikTok and thousands of others. And you can force Google Play on it, if you really can't live without it.
Similar price drops for the TV sticks and Echo devices and smaller discounts on home security devices.
And it's not just Amazon products. £184 for a 2 TB M.2 SSD looked quite tempting to me, especially when the 4 TB model was £777 !! It would be cheaper to get a new motherboard with 2 x M.2 slots and get two of the smaller ones - by a long way.

"The usual caveats apply for Amazon tablets, no Google play store etc" I bought one a long time ago the Amazon Fire 8" one, and straight away, I Googled and found a work around, that one does not have to be too techy on, to put the Google Play Store, on there. First thing after that, I downloaded Chrome Browser on there. If that was not possible to do, IMO that Amazon tablet, no matter how reasonably priced IS NOT WORTH IT. The APPs they offer in their Amazon APP store are nothing most are used to. www.androidpolice.com/install-play-store-amazon-fire-tablet/P.S. Amazon is my FAV online shopping site. Occasionally my Wife will show me something she wants (She does not have an interest in learning, doing computers, LOL), from some weird sounding site. If I don't trust them, I say NOPE, and look for whatever on Amazon. Now I am not a PRIME MEMBER, so if I am needing just one item under $25 USD, not offereing FREE shipping, I'll look on Ebay Many, MOST will ship for FREE just that one item

I can always get free shipping with Amazon using the click and collect option from a local shop. They don't make it immediately obvious, but I've ordered many items under £10 and got free shipping that way.
I ordered a TV stick for a paranoid friend yesterday (he gives me the cash and I pay using my debit card) and I could have got it today with Prime, but he's happy to wait till Tuesday - as I am when ordering anything.

Doing a quick bit of research, I believe it's called counter pickup in the States. You have to refuse/ignore all the Prime reminders and take no notice of any "You just need to spend x amount more to get free shipping" type warnings Eventually you'll get to shipping options where a further tempter to get it quicker (for a price) will be offered. But you should also see an option to select a local store to pick it up from - for free.
... And I've just had an email saying my parcel will be delivered today some time. I'll get a further email and text the moment it's actually delivered.

So under that option it has to be delivered to a nearby wherever, not your porch??
What I have always done, is make sure that I have several items in my, "Wish List," and if I have to add say a paper back book to hit that $25 USD limit, that is ehat I do :-)

Yes a nearby location. I find it a better option because I don't have to stay in and wait for a delivery and they keep it for a week if need be.
