MX Linux has been my preferred Linux for a while now. I keep trying others, just to keep in the loop of what's happening elsewhere, but they just don't match up to MX in the end.
The AV part of AV Linux refers to the extra Audio and Video programs it contains over the standard MX Linux, but it's more than MX Linux with extra programs. It has a whole different feel and AV specific extras, while retaining all the goodies that make MX great.
Even if you're not interested in extra audio and video programs and I must admit, I'm not that bothered myself, it still remains a good option for newcomers to Linux.
Obviously if you are heavily into audio and/or video, this is your dream Linux to try.
Works well running from a USB stick if you don't want to commit yourself to a full install.......
..... which reminds me, if you're tempted by Linux, please give it a proper try on a USB stick and find out how to boot from USB to facilitate that - it's worth it.
I see lot's of people advising trying Linux via a virtual machine, but it's not a true test of what Linux can do. And you need a fairly powerful machine to even try it that way.
Do it properly, booting the real hardware, not hiding behind Windows.
