There is a small following, but nothing like our native football (soccer to you)
Taken from wikipedia: .........
The NFL has set a target of reaching a total of 6 million "avid fans" in the UK before they will consider a London franchise viable, and surveys the UK annually to assess this figure; an avid fan being defined by the NFL as someone who says they're "extremely interested" in the NFL or that it is their favorite sport. Speaking during the 2015 International Series, Waller stated "We’re currently at four million, we were at about 2.3 million when the International Series started [in 2007]. We’re on track to reach that six million target by 2020."[50] Speaking at the start of 2016, he said "The fan base is big enough and passionate enough that it can support a franchise".
I'm surprised it's that high a figure myself, as I don't know anybody personally who claims to have an interest in it. I do see some people wearing NFL merchandise, but I assumed that was ironic or copying their favourite American celebrity/pop star.

U.S. Football VS FUSSBALL (Football in Germany), LOL
Which one is the REAL football, LOL.
OK, OK, I know American Football has a lot less FOOT, kicking the ball action than y'all's, :-)
And then there is Rugby, which I think is similar to ours, but without all the protective care.
They must have to carry a lot of players off the field :-), to a waiting ambulance.

I decided to watch the SuperBowl to see what all the fuss was about and thankfully I watched it live on the BBC, so I was spared all the 'messages' and words from our sponsors nonsense and instead got treated to in depth analysis (?) from three former players being prompted by a very British BBC sports journalist - that was more fun to watch than the actual game mostly.
The first thing I noticed was the total lack of atmosphere and maybe the BBC turned the crowd noise down to save our sensitive British ears from all the whooping and hollering that most of us can't stand. But the crowd is so far away, maybe it was that quiet.
I don't know either team, but I had to root for somebody to try and induce a bit of interest in the outcome. I picked the Rams for no particular reason, although subconsciously being an Aries (the Ram) maybe that was why?!
The half time show was puzzling - just get on with the game will you, the players can't be tired with all that start/stop business going on. Does that happen in normal games?
Having to learn the rules as I watched was quite frustrating, but I eventually picked enough up to understand what was going off. Throwing flags around was still confusing and quite amusing though!
Will I watch it next year?
Probably not, OK definitely not ;o

That was only the second game I watched all season, the playoff game prior to this one and of course THIS ONE, LOL.
My Wife is the sports Addict, all the majors, Football, Baseball, and Basketball, sometimes even a hockey game, when she is hardup for a game :-).
I enjoyed the game, and all the many snack foods she put out for the game & beer.
Now the halftime show, I switched channels since it really disgusted me, except for Eminem, there was not one,NOT ONE token white person included, especially among all those dancers. Now I understand Black folks got screwed being left out of a lot, back in the DAYS, 60s and before, TV, Movies, near everything, etc. etc., but now in 2022 instead of trying to achieve a color blind society, they are being TWO FACED, and rubbing it in our faces, NOT MAKING FRIENDS, just the opposite.

Hello, my Brit friends.
My Wife & I enjoy one of your shows, "All Creatures Great and Small," that takes place I believe Googling, in Yorkshire. Is that anywhere near Scotland??
I have to ask, because I darn near need to turn, "Subtitles," on to understand much of it :-)

jazzazz I don't watch that, but the Yorkshire accent must be strong on that program Just a bit of info to give you some idea....''The distance between Yorkshire and Scotland is 229 miles. The road distance is 211.2 miles. ... It takes approximately 3h 32m to drive from Yorkshire to Scotland.''

Very good show, Lynnrose. The area looks beautiful. I wonder if the village they use for the show is still an actual lived in Community.
I really really love your Brit shows. On Netflix, I have been eating up anything written (BOOKS BY), Harlan Coben.

The original BBC show was late 70's to the 90's with Christopher Timothy, Robert Hardy, Peter Davidson (moonlighting as the 5th Doctor Who) and the delightful Carol Drinkwater, but replaced by Linda Bellingham from the 4th series onwards.
I haven't seen the latest remake on Channel 5 and probably won't bother either because I remember the original show so fondly and hate interruptions on commercial channels.
I also read several of the books - the mad things we did before the internet!
The fictional village of Darrowby was filmed mostly in the real market town of Grassington (Nearest big city is Leeds 35 miles to the south)

"All Creatures," is played here on PBS (Public Broadcasting Station) commercial free, but they beg for money, donations a couple or three times per year.
