Many 'distros' over the years have tried to emulate a Windows desktop in a futile attempt to attract new Linux users.
It hasn't worked in the last 20 years and it never will because it's still Linux at heart and the learning curve is just softened slightly by having a Windows look.
Linux is a tinkerers dream as far as customising the look goes and if you choose to have a Microsoft feel to your desktop, then feel free to do that, but don't imagine the rest of the system is magically going to become Windows like too, because it won't.
If you just accept the differences, it's a point and click interface after all, then why pay homage to Windows?
Every version of Windows is significantly different from the last and requires relearning how to do various things. It's just accepted (after the initial complaints get forgotten about) but nobody seems to want to give Linux the same amount of leeway.
LinuxFX is just another Ubuntu clone with the option of making it look like Windows - for a price of course. I'm not against them making money, but it's just a cosmetic fix that can't hide the fact it's still Linux underneath and with a bit of research you can do it for yourself for free.
