Going out on a limb here, call me psychic or just a lucky guesser, but I'm going to say NO
Hang on I've just spotted my crystal ball, so let's get the definitive answer..... it's still NO, unlucky.
I did have an old macbook given to me last year, which was all but useless being stuck on an older version of the operating system. I had a few fun days seeing which version of Linux it would accept and finally got Linux Mint to behave on it and sold it for £60 - result.
I like MAC's and would definitely have one if money was no object, but I can't really justify the price when I could build two pretty high spec PC's for the same money.

Well I got my MAC (MacMini) Jan 2017, I lucked out wanting to replace my WindowsXp that I had converted to Mint 17, but compared to today, had hardly no RAM or memory. That PC was in the MEGs not Gigs, LOL.
It was right after Christmas, and my Wife, Son & Daughter In Law, knowing that I wanted to replace that relic purchased in 2006, gave me enough Best Buy Gift cards, that it cost me NOTHING, plus had extra that I used to buy the cable to make it work to my Monitor. Was surprisingly reasonable at $699 U.S. but of course just the PC, nothing else, already having a monitor, KB, mouse, etc.
It has 8G of RAM and a 1TB HD. So unless it goes belly up, or I finally get sick and tired of how long stupid Apple Updates take, even for a minor Security Update, making one think that something has gone wrong, I'll hold onto it awhile.
But if it needed to be replaced, I'd seriously consider a Chromebox (Check them out on Amazon), but they aren't in Brick & Mortars, IN STOCK. Sure you can order one and WAIT for a store delivery, or home delivery, but when I want or need something like that, I want to see it and get my hands on it NOW :-)

P.S. presently, at this moment typing on my CB, still my favorite and easiest to use, Near Dummy Proof, which is why so many of us OLD WebTVers went to these (Google WebTV) :-), and all updates, even a major OS update takes MERE seconds, no more than a few, couple of minutes.
