It can be annoying switching over. I spent an hour looking through a box full of sims a long time ago to find one with the most repeated digits and eventually found one with 3 repeated numbers that makes it very easy to remember - I obviously want to keep that.
Selling a locked to one network phone severely limits the possible buyers, but on the plus side, assuming you have the right network, it can also lead to bargains that not many want.
Most new phones are 'sim-free' nowadays anyway. That misleading term means it can take any sim regardless of network, not that it doesn't require a sim at all.
