Chromium is the open source browser that Chrome, Opera and even the new Edge in Windows are based on. - plus several others. It's only taking up a tiny bit of hard drive space and could be useful as a fault finding tool if your usual browser is not doing what you expect it to do. I will mostly have at least 3 browsers installed - Firefox (as one of the few non Chromium based browsers) Opera (for it's built in free VPN) and Chrome or Chromium as my preferred choice
It's only a problem if it's installed itself as the default, but that can be changed easily enough in 'default apps' and put back to your preferred browser.
