Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. I have been driven nuts by these pup-ups which keep appearing in bottom right hand corner of pc screen. I do a lot of photo editing etc and its irritating cause it interrupts any work I am doing. Ive tried uninstalling any suspicious exe I might have installed, nothing. I have downloaded and ran every free antispyware/adware program I an think of but still, nothin. I have googled this topic to buggery but nothin. I am considering admitting defeat to this wee nasty and thinking that next time this pop-up pops up im gonna take a hammer to it I was wondering if any of the fantastic people at computertypes (formerly known as computerinterestedtypes) please help me. I feel its personal and this things tormenting me. Ive attached a screenshot, the ads change. At least the evil virus is mixing things up for me but the add is always in relation to www.file.up.orgThanks for your time. Much appreciated indeed. Teddy

That's ok Lynnrose. How can anybody complain about a free service. Thanks for letting me know. Plenty of forums about so wont be stuck.
Its weird seeing that all this time you are still administrator. I hope you are well. I remember when I first joined the group. Think it might have been about 99ish/2000ish. Don't know if memory serves me correctly but once somehow connected with msn (in my mind anyway lol).
This group people of people have been so helpful to me over the years. Man I feel old.
Thanks anyway Lynnrose. The pop-up is more annoying that sinister and so isn't that urgent.
Thanks again, Teddy

Not had that one, but similar sort of popup in the bottom right hand corner. Mine have been anti crap ware that I have used in the past, but not for several years. I look in program files and delete any mention of the program, then reboot and run C Cleaner. That gets rid of them till the next time, still dont know how they install themselves. Dont worry about the spyware they say you have got, they are it. My system is totally secure, once I get rid of these bugs, there is nothing else gets on. Apart from what I've told you, these things are a complete mystery to me.

Hi all, have not pop in for a few months (usually not logged in). tfamok, your description looks as if you are photo editing on line and if your virus/malware scanner cant find anything, you may try to edit your HOST file to block the www pop up link. The HOST file is located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You need to start up your notepad as an administrator to edit this HOST file. After open the HOST file add this line to the bottom of the file: 127.0.0.1 www.file.up.orgthen save it as a plain text file with no file extension. This may or may not work but give it a try and let us know. Good luck.
