Tried to uninstall Mailbird and got the error message that the "resource I need is on external media, which is not available"! Looked at the Interned and several "vendors" are plugging Mailbird uninstallers, but when I tried 2, they both wanted to "fix my entire computer at a price". In other words they were scam. I went to Control Panel and tried to uninstall, but that did not work either! I could leave it on my system and simply not use it, but that annoys me and I am tempted to manually erase all files, but that could leave me with problems.
Any ideas?
Alex

Further to the above email, the file the system is looking for is Mailbird Setup.msi, which I believe is a Windows Installer file and without which I can neither update Mailbird nor uninstall.

I have just dealt with the same problem, different software is all and this is how I dealt with it.
Boot into Safe Mode and delete Mailbird from Program Files. Then Run Regedit and open Hkey_Current_ User, Software and delete any referrence to Mailbird. Same thing under Hkey_Local_Machine and if you are running 64 bit, open Wow6432Node. You might find it listed again in Wow, if so delete that as well. Just delete, dont try changing anything in the registry.
Before rebooting, run C Cleaner and delete everything it finds. After rebooting into normal mode, I would run C Cleaner again.

Well, that worked! I cannot thank you enough Vikingken. Now that I have uninstalled the copy of Mailbird that I cound neither update nor delete, I can install a fresh copy to see if it will work properly. And if it does not, you know what awaits it!!!! Really obliged to you, Alex

Your welcome Alex.
That will work for just about any software, but 9 times out of 10 has to be done in Safe Mode. A lot of stuff wont delete from Program Files, unless in Safe Mode and Windows stuff wont delete in any mode.
