I needed to remove a corrupt file in Mailbird, but I made a mistake in Registry Editor and cannot go back to try again. It defaults to the position I was last at and I cannot find a way to back. Can you help. Alex

Did you do a back-up of the registry editor before you started ? if so you should be able to revert.
Only other thing I could think of is to do a System Restore to before you did that, hopefully that would sort it for you

Thanks Merchant42, but that looks rather drastic. I would rather uninstall Mailbird altogether than risk losing any part of my system. Thanks again, Alex

Unless your very clever, its best to leave the registry alone. When your clever enough to safely play with the registry, you wont need to ask for advice on this board. This is only my opinion and you will probably get a lot of advice telling you I'm a complete prat.

Good advice Vikingken. I will venture into registry only on step by step instructions from a reliable source. I had my doubts in this case, so I decided to uninstall the application. Alex

After uninstalling a program, I will remove anything left in Program Files and delete it from the registry. I get things go wrong, my computers dont run smoothly all the time. I have got different tricks for different things, but none include altering the registry. Apart from deleting the obvious, I leave the registry well alone.
