This is obviously most useful for people with older computers - no browser running in the background equals more resources and every little helps on an old PC with limited RAM, especially when a modern browser can eat up best part of 1/2 a GB of RAM. I use it because it has more options, hides the mostly moronic comments and is more flexible when searching for things I particularly like the option to search for things by length of time, so you can easily find full episodes of TV programs and avoid the little 2-5 minute clips It started life as a Linux program and is easy to install by searching for 'smtube' in your package manager For Windows users there's a bit more work to do, first you need this smplayer.sourceforge.net/Then you'll need this sourceforge.net/projects/smplayer/files/SMTube/16.7.0/(pick the appropriate 32 or 64 bit version) Youtube don't like you accessing their files this way and use an embedded code which gets updated automatically. 'smtube' has an update code option in the help menu to make sure it's always current
