Hi, I have a "redundant" HD of 250GB. On its primary partition of 100GB is WinXP, which I will never use and it also has 2 logical drives containing data that I don't want to lose. My question is would I be able to use GParted to reformat the primary partition and install PCLinuxOs without losing data on the other 2 logical drives? Many thanks, Alex

You should be able to install what you like where you like, as long as you are careful to only format the one partition. I only make bootable installation disks, so I know virtually nothing about any 3rd party installation programs. I know they take care of the deleting and formatting, so thats where you need to be careful and the installation is handled by the install disk itself. As long as your installation disk is bootable, you could easily do the whole installation without using anything else.
