My wife and I each have our own computer and both run Hotmail.
We used to have the same version of Hotmail but somehow my wife now has a different version and it's a real pain to her.
When I connect to Hotmail on my machine, on the blue band at the top of the screen is the block to select the various apps etc (10 for me) and next to it are the words OUTLOOK.COM.
My wife on the other hand has 14 icons in her app block and the words OUTLOOK EMAIL next to it. Also when initialising Hotmail on her machine the word OUTLOOK pops up prior to opening
Any ideas as to how I get her machine back to the same Hotmail version as mine?

What are the extra icons? Might give a clue as to what happened

Hotmail/Outlook do install a lot of crap on your computer and that controls the mailbox. You can do a System Restore, back as far as you can without messing up your installed programs. Do a good cleanup afterwards and the mailbox might work as it did. You have to be carefull and not install any suggested updates from Outlook.com, or push any funny buttons they suggest. When Outlook first took over, they asked you to push some buttons. I didn't like the result and undone whatever it was I did. They said that after a certain date, there would be no going back. All my Hotmail I read through MSN and I rarely go to the Outlook site so I am a bit out of touch.
