Hi All,
Is there anyway of recovering a deleted word file.
We use Word 2000 and somehow a word document of ours has been over written. I have checked the recycle bin - no luck.
I believe is has now gone for good, but you never know if some bright spark has come up with a cute bit of software that might do the trick

If that doesn't do the job, there is a suite which I found from a link on Major Geeks called Advanced SystemCare 9. It's free, but it does try to persuade you to to pay for the 'Pro' version. Anyway, it has a tool called undelete which works. www.iobit.com/en/advancedsystemcarefree.php

Firstly, thank you Lynnrose for that link. I did not use it as I will explain, but it looked really useful so I have booked marked it. The file that I lost (it looks like like I overwrote it) was a 35 page (so far) write up of a trip we had recently done along the Danube and something my wife had spent a lot of time researching. My son came on the phone and mentioned something about a "Shadow copy" but we lost our connection with him in the car. Anyway I looked up 'Shadow copy' on the net up which lead me to download a piece of software called Shadow Explorer. Using that I was able to recover a copy of the document dated three days prior to me losing it. It was so easy to use but I am amazed that I do not seem to find any link to shadow copies on the computer. Any thoughts on the subject welcome./
