Been a Firefox user for a few years now. On XP is is the business.
Sadly, on W7, like most things post XP, it isn't so good. Pages take several seconds even minutes longer to load. It just doesn't have the slick feel of Firefox on XP.
I found Chromodo on www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/new_on_majorgeeks_comodo_chromodo_private_internet_browser.html
It's fast.
All book marks and such are transferred over, intact. Though it claims to move over passwords as well, it doesn't.
It has its own built in security filter, blocking adware ect.
It incorporates a flash downloader for YouTube, which sadly, doesn't work too well. So far, only one video was available for download and I'd just uploaded that one myself.
Favorites are saved in a manner more similar to Chrome than Firefox. I have to say I'm pleased about that. Firefox's favorites tool seems to have been designed by a Linux programmer.
Spell checker, which I think is American. I'll need to look into that more later, I wouldn't know the difference personally.
I've had no problems at all with showing images, or flash.
All in all pleased. The speed alone is enough to make me keep it. If there are any major problems I'll dump it and report back.Edit, see below.

I don't understand the slur myself, both Firefox and Chrome are originally Linux projects and wouldn't exist otherwise
And it's definitely American spelling, we like to put U's in things like Favourites, Colours, Neighbours etc
At least you've weaned yourself off IE, so there's hope for you yet :-p
There are lot's of alternative browsers, Slimjet and Slimboat are two fairly recent ones to consider and probably the best known mainstream one that few seem to use for some strange reason - Opera
Opera is usually my choice when trying to make an antique computer useful again

Sorry mikkh, it was meant as humour rather than a dig at anyone.
I'm in XP now and back to Firefox. Though I haven't used IE for a number of years.
The reason I tried Chromodo was a recommendation from Majorgeeks. That and the odd delays in anything in W7.
Think the YouTube issue is one I'll need to live with though, but I still have Firefox on XP which has an excellent downloader.
Anyway, no slurr intended.

Doesn't seem to be working now anyway - 404 errors is all I'm getting here

Not sure. Seems OK now. Just posted a comment there. Apologies mikkh, just checked the downloads and the Majorgeeks one do seem to be crashing. The Author's site seems OK though.

Apologies. Firstly, the dowloading problem expeienced by mikkh and them myself. I posed two messages on Majorgeek's forum about this. Bith were quickly deleted as spam. I have left a message on MJ's Facebook page, waiting for a response. This could be a problem with his forum manager, Discus. I tried accessing Discus page and it returned a blank white page. Anyway, later, while looking at the Daily Telegraph site, (I know, I know, filthy rag, but .... and found the browser hijacked. I used to get this occasionally with Chrome. One of the main reasons I stopped using that. So, in conclusion, apologies. Don't use this browser. Not sure what's happened with Majorgeek. If I hear, I'll get back.

Looks like a fake security program on your PC to me, which is probably why majorgeeks marked your posts as spam

The only security program added was the one incorporated into Chromodo.
I have run MWB scan after uninstalling Chromodo and reinstalling Firefox. It found nothing.
I also have Avast and Advanced System Care 8.2 running continuously.
Also, I've done a Google search for myerrors-warninga1.com It only returned 3 nonsensicle results. Very strange.

I googled the phone number, which seems to doubt it's legitimacy

So the key was the box, which prevented the rest of the page responding. I managed to close it by right clicking on the task bar and selecting close. That OK button would probably have installed or attempted to activate something, probably a cookie of some sort, with a view to later activation from another source, rather like the Police Virus scam. A bit of a naff attempt really, but I know of a number of intellegent people who would have probably been caught out. What get me is, there still isn't any cordinated means of dealing with these things. Just a lot of companies, ranging from the alturistic to the utterly dodgy, collecting data. The security program in that browser was a bit of a hammer job. It basically has 4 categories, (If I recall them) Potentially harmful, Attempts to install widgets, Tracking and Statistics. It seems to categorise whatever it finds as one of those. You can choose to block one group, but not individuals. What you choose is, however, global. And some, widgets for example, if blocked, can leave entire pages blank. (Though that is not what happened with Discus). The inbuilt security program itself should have rung a few bells. In Firefox I use the very geeky NoScript. OK, so it can take a while to go through each listing, but you do quickly get an instinct for what is probably OK and what is to be avoided. There are alos a number of databases colecting information. I generally use www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/nr-data.net There are others. I am just used to that one.

Anyway, The Major from Majorgeeks took a bit of convincing that I wasn't just a trouble maker, understandable really. He's acknowledged the information.
His site is normally very reliable. This one perhaps just slipped though.
If I get any more info, will post it here.
