8-)I was looking at some old photos I had in a box. This one is of my allotment from 1984, when I lived in Scotland. It's isn't very good really, the angle is silly and what can be seen doesn't really create a sense of what it is. Not to be defeated, I fired up my copy of Photoimpact 3.2 from 1996 or thereabouts and created this effect: Posting to show what can be done by literally anyone, with a bit of time and care.

Is that by Hyvot's Bank, Ferniehill area? No, it was in Shotts in Lanarkshire. I know the area you are thinking of. Though I haven't been near it in over 30 years. I know I've played golf on a few of the courses on the S Side back in the 70s, when I was still mobile and could see , but presumably those have now been sold off. Probably for the best. In those days there were over 40 courses in Edinburgh. OK, so they were all very popular, in that you couldn't hang around while playing, but they cost a bit to maintain and the land would have been in demand. The image was of what was then my back garden, (or drying green in local parlance). The cottage was owned by a hospital where I worked. That has also closed down now and been completely demolished. (Pleased to say). I understand the cottages were sold off to a local property owner. What has become of them I don't know since I also have not been back there since 1987. Thanks for the response and the memories.
