I have downloaded Minime and used Synaptic to install Thunderbird, Firefox, Gwenview, Okular and Xsane. I cannot find Libre Office, so I am making do with Abyword, but I cannot get the printer to work and I have no sound. When I went onto Cups webpage it did not see any printers at all, so my guess is that I need to download something else, but I don't know what. Can you help, please? Also, what do I download for sound? Interestingly, the scanner part of the printer (Epson Stylus Office BX535WD) works OK and the connection is Wi-Fi.
The printer can be connected via Wi-Fi, USB or Ethernet lead, but there are no instructions what is needed for set up.The printer icon in Control Centre is dead.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Alex

PClinuxOS has put together scripts called 'tasks' which you can find in synaptic to install various things - like a whole new desktop, 'task-mate' for example will install all the programs required to have a full mate desktop.
Just put "task" (without the quotes) as a search term in synaptic, scroll down alphabetically to the T's and you will see among others 'task-printing
To install LibreOffice search for "lomanager" in synaptic. That will install LibreOffice for you
You could try 'task-multimedia' to help with the sound problem

Printer now works and in Wi-Fi. I downloaded system-config-printer; task-printing-epson and task-printing-scanning. I will try the others later when I am on unlimited bandwidth. Thanks, Alex
