OK I have my new 750W PSU and the GFORCE GTX 760 card.
I've read through al much information as I can lay my hands upon.
No more excuses, I'm going in. Smoke me a kipper.

You must have done more studying the last couple of weeks Jojo, than I've done in my entire life.

Should be reaping the benefits by now then, that's if you can stop smiling and gazing lovingly at the pretty new numbers Windows Experience Index is generating anyway

I like to be as sure as possible before plunging in. Knowledge is never wasted.
Anyway, PSU working fine, as expected. Left it running with a program and no problems.
Now to the Graphics card!
If all goes well, I'll next be chatting on a card that is actually cool.

The graphics card is in and working fine.
Updated the software for the W7 drive, currently doing the same for the XP, though this one seems to be taking a lot longer.
Can't wait to try it out. But I need to get to bed.

Anyone know anything about a new startup that's appeared for Windows:
HKLM:Run InstalledTime no publisher file: 9-29-2014

Windows is worried that your new software might contain a virus, dont worry about it. To be on the safe side you can run MBAM; but if nothing is found, its only Windows being over protective.

Where are you seeing that? Obviously you've got new Nvidia drivers/software installed, but that should all be Windows certified and perfectly kosher I hope you did a custom install and avoided all the extras but the actual driver

It in the startup list I found on CCleaner, in the XP drive.
I did find an entry suggesting it is some sort of dual desktop for W7, but it isn't in the W7 drive at all.
I have it turned off right now. Curious what it is, what it's doing there and who it's parents are, because they need to sort their produce out!

If you found it listed in C Cleaner Jojo, its only crap to be removed anyway. I dont even bother reading what C Cleaner finds, I just delete the lot and I have never had anything go wrong because of it. Even if something did go wrong, it would only take a System Restore to put it right. Go into Windows Updates, remove the Microsoft Malicious Shyte Removal Tool and any other security crap you find there and you wouldn't get them silly messages. Dont put any faith in Windows to fix the security, its them that cause the bloody trouble in the first place.

On a brighter note, just tried out my new graphics card with my game and actually managed to hit the other guy once before he killed me.
Things are looking up!!

Someone I know online suggested I try Comodo. I am satisfied with Firefox but decided to give it a whirl.
It likes to install its own set of security programs. I'm with you merchant, I like to choose my own security tools and tend to avoid bundles.
