Pleased to say that after 18 months of trying to find employment.
Went to an Interview on Tuesday, got a phone call on the Wednesday to tell me I had gotten the job.
It is not back at Sea which would have been my preference (alas I doubt that I would pass the medical !)
But in this day and age I count myself lucky to find one !!

Yes it was a good thing, I was going to warn you not to get the other one, but I didn't want to spoil the moment. It was OK for basic stuff, but the i5 is definitely better
Both have the same fault though - a lack of a graphics card and too much RAM to try and hide the fact
Too much RAM? Yes, 8 GB is plenty for mere mortals like us, anything more is overkill unless you're doing real heavy duty stuff like CAD or animation. Most people could even get away with 4 GB
It's a strange decision by Zoostorm because 8 GB of RAM plus a £50 graphics card is a cheaper option than 16 GB of RAM and would make a better overall system.
It's a bit naughty really because it's an obvious sales gimmick to trick those who aren't tech savvy. A lot of people probably assume 16 GB is going to make it better/faster - it won't, it's only real difference will be a larger paging file (virtual memory) on the hard drive, so it will be slightly worse if anything as it reads/writes to the bigger paging file

I am not into any of the CAD stuff, current PC has 8GB and it does for what I need it to do, not getting it for the Graphics anyway ! Main reason is the 3TB HD,and the wireless capability, plus the bonus of being able to afford it !!!

You missed the point, nobody is 'into' CAD stuff, you either do it for a living and need a better spec than normal or not. That was just an example of heavy duty use. I was looking at it from system builders point of view, it seems lopsided to me. Windows 7 is a real bonus though when Microsoft are trying to force 8 on everyone
Enjoy your new PC and sorry if I've upset you by over analysing it

If he has already bought it though, he can still get a decent graphics card later can't he mikkh?
