I use it all the time Monty and you can download the software from here: download.cnet.com/LightScribe-System-Software/3000-2094_4-75206299.html.
HP have closed down the Lightscribe site.
You also need to download the templates for the labels, then you can add your own photos and titles to them.
You also need Lightscribe disks, you burn the lable direct to the back of the disk. I always burn mine twice to get it to stand out nicely. I buy 50 mixed colour disks on eBay, £14.98 including postage. The labels come in 5 colours. If you go to PC World they will sell you a packet of 5 or 6 single colour for about a quid each.
You dont need any special driver, just the software.
The software includes instructions, but its dead easy to use. Make up you label template, stick a disk in the burner and hit the burn button. It takes about 20 minutes to burn a label, so its not very fast and it puts a lot of people off using it. I've got all the time in the world, so I'm not bothered and as I said I burn mine twice.

A Lightscribe burner is more expensive than a standard DVD burner Monty, so you might as well get your moneys worth.
These are captures of the label builder which is black and white, the label itself is metalic red. I print the unlock keys on the disk, so they dont get mixed up. The key is complete on the disk, but I wasn't putting it out on the net.
I add a bit of a border and print them out as a sleeves for the plastic envelopes.
