Hi folks; greetings and salutations from yer old pal JohnnyBee, ex-sailor, ex-pilot, ex-mechanic, former local politician, singer and guitarist, and the maker of the best cuppa tea this side of the Andes!
Hope you all had a epic time over christmas and the noo year, and didn't get too drunk in the process!
Right then, I've been given this Epson Stylus printer/scanner/copier by a friend of mine who has no further use for it - she's got the use of a hewage thing the size of a bus at work, which is free - and to my stupefied astonishment, Epson have not only written Win7 drivers for it, but all the accompanied apps for photo printing etc.
My problem is, these things use the exceedingly small ink tanks - 12.5ml or thereabouts - which can be bought for around £8-12 online for the set of four, or you could pay £28-35 for genuine Epson items.
This means that when the black tank runs out first - as it always does - the software kicks in and makes the whole thing unuseable until you replace it and reset the firmware counter.
Now I remember some years ago that a company somewhere around Berkshire used to sell a kit consisting of four slave tanks to replace the standard cartridges, four replaceable 250 or 500ml bottles of ink, feed tubes and unions all in one box; however I don't seem to be able to find it anywhere on the 'web for some reason - anyone got any ideas where I could find a kit like this, or something similar?
Cheers, troops!
