I have Epson Stylus Office BX535WD on Wi-Fi connection in WinXP and Win7. In all Linux OSs that I use (Ubuntu 12 LTS;PCLinuxOS and Puppy) the scanner works on Wi-Fi, but the printer has to be connected to an USB port to work. Yesterday, the scanner would not work in Puppy. The system kept defaulting to Canon Lide, which I also have.
I tried it in PCLinuxOS and it worked! I noticed, however, that its PID changed from 192.168.1.89 to 192.168.1.102 and the LinuxOS has recognized the scanner even though its ID in the config file was the old ID. I got back into Puppy and changed the Epson.config to the new ID and it the scanner worked OK.
The line in Config. file reads as follows:-
Network net 192.168.1.102 net autodiscovery
I think that it was Epson who changed the ID, but for some reason Puppy failed to recognize it. This has happened a few times on the past few weeks and I am wondering if you boys have a permanent solution.
Best,
Alex
