H! I have got a Hardrive that i put in my new Computer all ready formated on my old Computer as a Master, i put it into my new Computer and put Linux Mint on it and all was well till i tried to put Windows XP onto it it got half way through installing it and just stoped, so after about an hour i turned it off at the power button and tried again the screen was blank the power light was flashing so i changed the monitor same thing happen so i put an onboad graphic card in just to check same thing happen. Today i put it in my other computer as a master and it came up with this, NTLDR is missing Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart. So i tired it as a slave same thing happen. The Hardrive is a Western Digital 120 Gig. Just going to have a look on the website see if it say's anything.

try to format the disk then partition the drive so you can put windows on one and Linux on the other or put Windows in first and when you try and put Linux in it well do a partition for you, mind you I did it a long time ago and as I'm getting on my memory needs an update

I can't partition the drive if i can't boot up in the first place as when i press the power button and boot up NTLDR is missing Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart, the i cannot do anything.
I think the Hardrive is no good.

Change boot order to cd first in bios, place your windows disk in the cd drive restart the computer it should start to reinstall windows. in the process it will ask you where you want to put the new intallation and do you want to format the disk etc your might even be able to partition the drive if you read it very carefully, dont worry if you make a mistake you can always start again, in bios it will show if the hard disc it there or not, you know you look like someone in my era.
be lucky

Windows should always go on first if you want a dual booting system with Linux
Do as Monty has already suggested - boot from the Windows CD and install Windows that way

..... and the hard drive is fine. That's a standard Windows error message when it finds a hard drive with no Windows OS on it
