I took a short film with my camera and now want to capture a few stills from it. I have tried Moviemaker, which I was told would do it, but it refused to recognise the film format. It has saved as a quicktime movie.
Is there any hope?

You dont have the codecs on your computer. If you download and install K-Lite codec pack, you will find that Movie Maker will work. Also it can depend on how you try to open Movie Maker. Sometimes if you right click on something and tell it to open in MM it wont do it. Then if you open MM and import the movie, it will.

Thanks. I did open Moviemaker first, but it told me the film was not in a valid format. Goddess bless Quicktime.

Sorry, doesn't seem to be working. I'm probably doing something wrong.

Thanks folks. Job done. I was talking to my son about how he did his and emailed it over, he did it on his machine and sent back. Isn't email wonderful?
