Hi everyone, not been around for a while but hope you're all doing well. I have been given a brand new Blackberry R900 by a rep ... I understand that it is one of the earliest models ... not worth a great deal. It is locked to O2 network but, if I don't want to use it as a phone can it replace my Palm PDA with no further cost to me? Would it take a lot to set it up? Does anyone have any opinion as to whether it is worth setting it up and playing with it or leaving it fully boxed, unopened and passing it on to someone else? Would anyone want such an old model? I know this is not a computing question but, I am laid up in bed and trying to pass the time until I am allowed out again! Many thanks, I'd be interested to hear what anyone has to say. Will have a look around here now to catch up on what's been happening! Jules.

Hi Elvis! Thanks for taking the time to reply. The Blackberry has never even been set up before ... I would use it as a phone but I am with Virgin and want to stay with them. Hope someone comes along to advise me as you say! Yeah your phone's an old one but if it does the job you want it to that's fine! I noticed these Blackberrys are going for next to nothing on EBay now. Bye for now, Jules.

H! juliekm, ;D
If you get it unlock then you can use any sims card in it i think, so you will be able to use Virgin or any other provider.
Yes just been looking on ebay a box of them is going for £85.00 ;D not bad if somebody needs a lot of then "A"
