I tried to speed up my Puter by deleting Progs from the Start > Programmes I missunderstood the intructions and thought I was deleting Progs running in the background and not removing them from the Start Key.
How do I Restore the Progs I removed? I can't find where they're all listed on my HDD.

In anticipation of all of the Help and Advice I know would have been forthcoming I offer my thanks to you all.
Problem solved I just bottled out and Restored to an earlier Restore point.

Glad you got it sorted, I just thought I'd mention for the future if you want to remove programs from starting up automatically just go to run type msconfig and a box pops up pick startups and just untick the ones you do not want to run all the time like Quick time skype and anything else they will still work when you need them but wont start every time you boot up just make sure you don't untick antivirus or antispyware programs and if you want to change any back just retick the box. You will get a message when you restart saying you are using selective startups just tick the box not to show again and ok.

Thanks for that I did look at it before I went down the route I chose. Should have gone with it rather than physically delete them.

The msconfig is only a switch Rog, to turn things on and off in the startup. Theres no need to get rid of anything and the program is still available if you want to use it. Some things can be a bit obscure and you can always turn something back on if you stop it by mistake.

TUT is a very useful tool Buzzy. I have got the pro version, but even the free one is excellent. It explains everything in English and not Geek Speak. Anyone who needs help with msconfig or Services, TUT will explain everything to you. If you get something strange not on the list, email it to them and they will investigate it for you.
