Putting Linux on a USB drive has been possible for many years, so it's not a new idea. I went to their site and the instructions look over complicated and geeky even to me A better (and much easier) idea would be to use the 'unetbootin' utility which downloads/installs/makes bootable a whole host of different Linux distros from within Windows directly to your USB stick or drive unetbootin.sourceforge.net/Some work seamlessly, others don't and all depend on your PC having the ability to boot USB devices in the first place which seems to be assumed in the Daily Mail article. The only bad thing about unetbootin, is it gives you a whole lot of distros to pick from but doesn't really help with picking one or explaining their difference to other ones. One called 'Backtrack' is the equivalent of 'Tails' but all Linux distros run from USB or CD/DVD will leave no traces, so it's not exactly a unique feature
