Elvis, I did not work for me. I installed it and it would not even boot up from the HD. It boots up from the DVD, but that is no good to me. I wish there was a way to tell these boys to get jobs at filling stations or stacking shelves at Tesco instead! Alex

I have read that booting can be a problem with PC with b43 WiFi drivers, but I am not sure if that is my problem, nor how to correct it.

I can't see how wifi drivers would cause a booting problem myself, but if it's a known problem and you're using a laptop, there's not much you can do about it. You were the one using a very out of date version of Mint in another thread, so maybe trying version 12 will cure your problem.
It might also just be the version you're using - was it KDE, XFCE or normal Gnome based Mint you tried?

Mikkh, Not sure what version I am using. The download file in WinXp is shown as "linuxmint-13-cinnamon-32bit.iso Your memory is excellent. Yes I have Mint 6 on a CD, which boots ok, but I have never installed it to HD. That may not mean much, because even Lint-13-Maya boots up from the DVD, but will not boot from HD. I can read that HD with Puppy, so the drive is not gone us. Alex
