We were told we would have the 60MB from the end of April, which is tomorrow...not holding my breath though, but this is the message I got today, so have ordered the Super Hub...

So, my wife an I recently had our old, slow 10 meg bb modem, attached to a thingie to send out the signal by wireless device., upgraded to a super fast, super modern, super cool hub, pumping out a massive 50 megs of mind thumping access to download at breath-taking speed which is promised to take our breath away. (Nice thing to say to a couple of old past its, who get tired climbing the stairs, but there you go.  ) The problem is the thingie that makes the wireless bit doesn't seem very reliable. We made endless phone calls to the computer company, Novatech since, being past it, we don't like change and these guys, annoyingly, seem to produce what we need all the time. We also made a number of calls to Virgin, aware that they are creeply like the NHS, generally producing a great product but having a customer service that ranges from unstable to hostile. We finally figured out what the problem is. All by our own, lonesum selves. The signal from the new unit isn't very strong and needs a (more-or-less) line of sight to work. Progress. Eh?! |

I finally got round to whinging about my bill and the ridiculous situation of downgrading to upgrade!
I was on 50 Mb, but by downgrading to the next one that is now doubled, I'm now on 60 MB !! well 61 according to the speed test I just did
My TV package (which I never watch I might add) has been upgraded to M+ and the total bill reduced to 33.90 - happy days
I just happened to do a speed test before I phoned them, that showed 50 Mb, so why wasn't the 100 Mb activated already ??
While the extra download speed and cheaper bill are nice, I did notice with disdain that the upload speed is much less than it used to be

I am on 50mb and i have just done a check and i got 49download and a 4.80 odd upload.
i do not now what has happen to the 100mb?

Well it was going to be July and i just check and got this
Your speed upgrade is going to take a little longer
We estimate your area will be ready between: December 2012 and May 2013
Our engineers are still working on the fibre optic network in your area.
