No Virgin Media at home Also lost connection on Sunday for 24 hours I am on BT at work right now
Have rung them and they can see no maintenance being done in my area Might change from VM, I really think they ought to refund the money for each day you lose on the internet.
They gave me £7 back once for that reason. I think it should be standard

I have been having internet problems since March. Spoke to them awhile back and they said we had a fault and would be running again by 7th April, offered £5 refund...internet came back, then kept disappearing, spoke to them again, another fault, won't be fixed until 13th April, but will come back on and off up until then, which has been happening...offered £10 refund. They now admit it is to do with the upgrade. I am on 20MB and by the end of April will be on 60MB Just drives me mad...why couldn't they just send out a letter outlining all the problems we would be getting during March/April and offer money back when out of service, instead of me having to make umpteen phone calls to find out what is wrong and not getting anywhere. At least yesterday's phone call got me a little closer to more information.

If you're on cable, you would be ill advised to try the alternatives. ADSL is generally very poor and getting your current 20 Mb would be almost impossible unless you're lucky enough to live very close to the exchange - and 60 Mb, not a chance!
VirginMedia are a big company and there's bound to be the odd hiccup for a few customers, but on the whole they do a good job and ADSL sucks big time as you would find out very quickly. This upgrade of yours and others to 60 Mb is a strange decision by them though, I'm currently on 50 being upgraded to 100 soon, but I'd be more than happy to 'downgrade' and pay less and still get a faster connection than I'm currently getting! I just don't understand the thinking behind that.
100 or even the further upgrade to 120 they also promise will make zero difference to daily surfing, i will only notice the difference when downloading big files. I currently download a typical Linux ISO (around 700 MB) in about 6 or 7 minutes - getting it in 3 or 4 minutes isn't going to change anything as I usually do it in the background anyway whilst on other sites.
I'm going to phone them in the next day or so to see what they say

I agree Mikkh, do not need an upgrade either, they should offer less money to pay for those that don't want it Let us know how you get on after phone call
