Hello
I can't print photos direct from my Windows Photo Gallery to my HP Photosmart C4180 All-In-One printer, which I have checked and is is functioning ok. When I want to print a photo the job is just queued with 'error 'printing' shown. I have tried to 'restart' the printing request but nothing happens. However, if I use the Adobe Photoshop program I can print a photo (a bit long winded doing that though).
What is odd is that I can print docs (from Word) with no problem - its photos that I can't print direct. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem. (I use Widows Vista).
Regards

H! Jiff,
You can try updating you drivers (it may not help but worth a try) or have a look in your printers property.
Mikkh will be along soon

Did some research...the easiest route to take first is to make sure that you have the right printer selected (even if you have just one printer)
Some more info here that may help....let us know

Thanks but the printer drivers are okay -so that's not the problem.

Did you try out the info from the other message?

Yes, as Lynnrose pointed out - especially for an 'all in one' printer, make sure it's set to the right printer as there may be several options with a multi-function device.
If you do have the Microsoft Document writer as a device in printers - delete it

Hello
I am using the right port, an updated driver and have tried System Restore. I have also checked the associated .dll in C Drive which are there.
Still can't print from Widows Photo Gallery !!

CRACKED IT !! I downloaded the HP Photosmart Essentials programme which captured all the photos from Windows Photo Gallery which enabled me to print them on my HP Photosmart C4180 printer. Complementing the programme Essentials, is another programme called HP Photocreation which allows you to design a photo presentation.

The HP printer is one of those that needs its complete set of over hyped, overblown nonsense that seems to spend much of its time telling you you have an HP printer.
I use an HP myself. It's good, but can't really understand why they need all the nonsense.
Another problem I have with HP is it continually defaults to its own settings, especially regarding paper size. Which in true US style, is in imperial.
