Try looking in Page setup in a word document for example and make sure it is set correctly.
Worth looking in Print Preview when you have typed a page and seeing how it looks first before printing.
If you have a percent option, set to 100%

On the print dialogue box there should be a 'properties' button to press - you can change the settings there. My MP220 is back in it's box after the initial ink ran out and I couldn't find any cheap compatible cartridges. I've got two Epsons that are very cheap to refill to use anyway.
Just bought some ink for one on Ebay 5 x complete sets of 4 plus 5 extra blacks for £8 post free !

Thank you both, if i print from Word its fine, but small from web page, but will check settings next time.
Cannon will not scan if ink jets are empty.... how annoying is that, so will now have to see if i can get some cheap ink, price so far is £37-17 P/P free.
Think it may be cheaper to replace printer !!!!!
