Phoney lives in that general area Larry, but he suddenly went off the radar. He was posting pictures on the graphics page every day and suddenly he wasn't there anymore. I know he was having health problems, but I thought he was in remission and he didn't say anything. I've got a cousin who's a professor at London Uni, but I think he lives a bit souwest of that area. I haven't even heard from him for donkeys years, so I'm not likely to get any news from him anyway.

Wow, I hope Phoney is OK and just taking some time off. But can you imagine that speed? My goodness, you would be able to download a full HD movie in the blink of an eye. But then I don't know how they can really test those speeds. How many companies have servers that can handle that speed?

It all marketing BS Larry, we give the fastest speed in the world. The fact that nobody can use it, is beside the point.People pay £3/4 million for the fastest road car on the planet and the fastest legal road speed over here is 70 mph. Even if a server could manage it, it couldn't if 10,000 users are all trying to download off it at the same time. Cyber traffic jams are just as real as any other. High speed connections are designed for buildings with 2000 computers, not Mary Jane chatting on her mini netbook.

You are exactly correct. Common ordinary web surfers are never going to pay for that speed, nor do they need it. Over here we are so far behind it's ridiculous. We are just now getting 105Mbps download speeds and even that's too much for the ordinary web surfer. But you will always have those who even though they will never utilize it to its fullest potential, just have to have it anyway. Bragging rights, I guess. LOL

If they want to give me more than 50 Mbs Larry, I will take it. I wouldn't pay for more, I dont even need that much most of the time. It good to have when downloading from Technet and such places, but they are the only places with fast enough servers. Most download sites, you wish you could suck the data out of them.

I know what you mean. When I try to download anything from the Chinese servers, I feel like I'm back on my 56k modem. LOL
