Hi all Been trying to sort a pals OE6 out. He has a speedtouch modem and is with Virgin via btlandline. He could not get online or anything so I checked and could not see anything so I uninstalled and started afresh. Modem installed all ok using his account id ******@adsl.virgin.net which I thought was starnge as he has a @virgin.net email but it all went well and bingo we were on the internet no probs. Came to setup OE6 and did the usual pop.virgin.net and smtp and put in his id *****@adsl.virgin.net. It sent but did not recieve so played a bit and went back to what he said his email was .virgin.net... recieved but this time could not send. Went to Virgin site got the settings etc which did not say anything about adsl.virgin net. It told me to alter incomeing and outgoing figures and apply. I then sent a test email with reciept to his vigin.net email and all went well. I then sent an email to me at home. When I checked at home its was recieved so I thought all was ok. So I replied and it reverted back to @adsl.virgin.net and was returned to me saying DNS error. My email setup is ok. Any ideas for such a long qery.
I am having troubles as he has not got the original welcome letter and he is unsure whether he has the right details as he is elderly and cant hear well.

Login for his Virgin email account should be name@virgin.net so enter this in OE along with his password and the pop and smtp server details
The 'adsl.virgin.net' is only used to log on to the ADSL broadband connection
