I keep getting error reports ion IE8 saying "A Problem has been encountered and IE8 needs to close, send error message" etc.
When I click on Send Error Report it sends it but doesn't close IE8." Anyone got any ides what is happening?

Send error reports is about as useful as an IOU from Portsmouth football club. It doesn't do anything useful to solve the problem and it's doubtful if anyone is actually monitoring them - if they get received at all.
All of which doesn't help you at the moment. The generic error message you got, doesn't really narrow it down either. All that is certain, is that IE8 is broken.
If there's an uninstall option, use it and reinstall it.
If you haven't installed any other programs recently, there's a good chance a Windows update has caused this behaviour.

Just a thought, it may also be a recent addon.
I regularly check mine and disable any I don't recognise.
Another thing, if you click Tools, Internet Options, then the Advanced tab, uncheck the box to automatically check for updates of Internet Explorer.
Also, further down, there is a box to reset IE8 to its original condition.
