As some of you will know I've been having printer troubles. This is my latest sent via their online form.
After a discussion with your support and reinstallation of the universal driver I tried a new cable, as suggested, but this did not solve my problem. I have partially restored printing by doing a windows system restore. I can now print mono, but not colour. Looking on your site, I tried to find items specific to the model number but cannot find anything for the CLP315 (V), which is what the label on the printer says is my model number.
Over to you.

I am getting the machine to print in mono, but it refuses to print in colour, although I have the correct driver installed.

If you don't think this is your printer, go to this page: www.samsung.com/uk/support/main/supportMain.doClick on the PC Office icon and a new box will open. In the first, slect Printer. In the second select Colour Laser. (I'm assuming yours isn't a multi function because you didn't say it is). In the third, select which printer matches yours. A pag will open offering the documentation available. Suggest you start with the driver manual.

Disconnect it, uninstall all the software in Add & Remove Programs and reboot. Check in Program Files and delete the folder if its left one there. Run C Cleaner to get rid of any crap. Then put the disk in and reinstall it again. If it wont go then, bin it. If Kev couldn't get his to work very good, it more or less proves that model just isn't a lot of cop. When someone comes out with a product that is a mile cheaper that all the rest, it usually means they have cut a lot of corners. You would have been better off buying a well used secondhand quality one.

I've done just about every uninstall/install. Definitely got correct driver. Will look in the manual later and check my settings. I was wondering if it was a w not a (v), as I was reading upside down and in poor light. After a couple of years use, I could get a new up to date one for less than the price of a set of toner and that has crossed my mind.

Well that one on eBay is free delivery, so £69.99 is all you pay and you would probably get it faster than it will take to sort out the old one

Angel.
If the printers does what it's suppose to then keep it. But if it doesn't then it has to go.
I have to confess, if it weren't obvious, that the days when I was up to speed on the latest technologies and products are long, long gone.
Have a look at those manuals. See if you can deal with the problems. If not, print what you need to, while the toner lasts then get something else.
I recently bought a printer/scanner for under £40. It's made by HP. Does a pretty good job. Was a breeze to set up.
It isn't the latest technology, nor will it bring much admiration from anyone under 40.
But it works.

That is the cheapest option Angel. You must have unused cartridges from the old one, so just go and buy a new one, use the cartridges that come with it until they run out, and then put your other ones in. Bin the old printer cos it's not worth getting it repaired. The only problem with Samsung is they are continually bringing out new models to replace the current one. MY CLP300 wasn't even a year old when a blackout during a firmware update killed it, but by then, they were no longer available. The CLP315 had been released not long before. The same thing was evident with the mono lasers. They brought out 4 different updated models in three years, and the toner cartridges weren't interchangeable. They have a lifespan of around two years, so it seems, so bin the old one and get yourself a new one, but i'd be looking at a Zerox or a Canon instead once your toner is done with.....

I could do that, as I have one spare black cartridge and the money from the grant with a supplier waiting for me to order. I have though been looking at getting an upgrade on this one with compatible cartridges, as I've really got along quite well with them. I suppose I've done quite well with the machine.
