I'm an out of sight out of mind kind of person, so I've been throwing used carrier bags down the side of my fridge for quite a while now (years basically) It's the gap under my stairs, so it's a BIG area. I'm having the kitchen upgraded at the moment, so the full scale of the carrier bag mountain didn't become apparent till I had to empty the kitchen of all it's contents. A LOT of carrier bags, some were 'bags for life' and others of that ilk meant for reuse, so I set about sorting them out, meaning to ditch the thin flimsy ones and keep the good ones. I'm neatly folding all the good ones when I notice something is in one - looks like a Christmas card I thought, but it's just an envelope with some writing on it "Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate what you did for me" and inside was a tenner I might have to tidy up more often

Nah, you're only allowed one miracle a year and those curtains have been perfect for 10 years so I see no reason to ruin them by washing them. The sheets I change once a year whether they need it or not, and the carpets look better brown than the original cream anyway

If I looked through my bag collection, I would probably find a box of 4 year old eggs.
