I have a Samsung CLP315. The spooling has become very slow when I try to print anything with graphics, particularly when I want more than two copies - text is ok. I think it may be the spooling settings, but can't see where.
Also the colours are not stable; I'm getting faded parts. Do I need ot clean anything?

Bumping up for you, sorry it got missed.
I had a quick look around and the only info I could find...
Have you tried re-installing the printer driver?
You might find some more tips here

Kev is probably about the best one to help on laser printers, what I know could be written on a postage stamp. I might be getting mixed up, but I think he might have had a Samsung himself. If it hasn't been NUVIzed, he will probably have some idea whats wrong.

Yep, i've had both the CLP300 and the newer CLP315. The CLP300 was a great budget laser printer, and i'd still have it if the power didn't go off during a firmware update, thanks to the NUVI's, and render it useless. I then went out and purchased the CLP 315, because the 300 was no longer available. Pity about that as I still have a full new set of toner cartriges for it, which I have no use for.
The CLP 315 however, isn't anywhere as good as the 300 was. It's slow, and was also giving me low quality prints. I've since gotten rid of it and gone for a Canon MF8450C all-in-one colour laser for the office work, and a new Epson 1410 A3 colour injet printer to do my Nikon D90 photo's, and print my CD & DVD disc's on.
The low end Samsung CLP range is pretty awful compared to the better mid range, and top end models. Unfortunately, you get what you are willing to pay for with printers, especially lasers.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to replace; it's not even mine in that it was bought for a group I work with, although it was my choice.

Don't ya hate that when something you have recommended to someone plays up. I've given that sort of advice in the past, but now I don't recommend anything that I havn't tried myself first.

Did you clean your Samsung; was it as easy as the manual saya?
How do I estimate the images the Imaging unit has produced? I was wondering if this is part of my problems.

My Samsung was still on the original cartridges when I got rid of it Angel. I hadn't had the need to service it, so can't advise you there. As far as counting copies goes, I belive there is a way to tell the number of copies it has printed, but I have never worried about that either, I go by the toner alarm light that tells me when a cartridge needs replacing.
The new Canon MF8450c I have now has a counter that comes up on the screen. It's pretty well a mid to top of the line model though, and that feature is not present in the cheaper models..

It's not a toner light that comes on red, it's the one that shows green when printing.

Partially solved (fingers crossed) with a system restore.
