MalwareBytes AntiMalware is free John, but you have to update it manually before running it. Super AntiSpyware is a free one and it updates automatically. Spyware Blaster is a good one that sits quietly in the background. You cant go far wrong if you install them three.

Ok, I have installed and run the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and nothing was found, but Windows Security Centre says that it can not find any virus protection on my system. I have S.A.S as well as Tweakmore Reg scrub.. Do I need more ??

You can open the security centre and click a box telling it that you are making your own arrangements.

You still need a virus checker by the sound of it, don't you have one installed?
Avast 5 or Avira are probably the best free ones - certainly the least resource hungry anyway, although I haven't tried the Comodo suite for a while, which was always a good software firewall, but a bit slow as a virus checker

I'm currently trying out the whole Comodo suite on my main computer Mikkh. So far, after more than a month, I have found it to be excellent. It has found stuff that Avast didn't. The firewall is fabulous, and I know just what is going out, and coming in at all times. I Think Comodo Security Suite is what i'm going to be installing on all my customers computers from now on.

Although I have always had a low opinion of Microsoft security, Fred Langer was singing its praises in Windows Secrets the other day. Version 2 has just been released after BETA testing, Fred reckons its really good and he was BETA testing it. I subscribed to the Langer List for a couple of years, before Fred sold out to Windows Secrets and became one of their authors. In all the years I have been reading his stuff, he's never put me wrong. After reading what he had written, I installed it. First I moved the few files I had on the C:/ drive, then ran everything to make sure it was clean and made an image. Then I installed and ran it and it found a virus that everything else had missed. I've not had any bother with it so far, but I still run SAS and MBAM. I had to uninstall SAS Pro, coz it runs in the background. SAS still finds a lot of small stuff, so the malware part isn't so hot. I'm not bothered as long as it get the big stuff. If anything should go wrong, I will format and put the Paragon image on as it was before. The worst that can happen, it will take up about 15 minutes of my time to put it right.
