.. just lateral thinking?
I went out a few hours ago, spent £18 on shopping, £20 on Gas and Electric and came back with more money in my pocket than I went out with - how come?
Yes the shopping etc was for me, not for a friend/neighbour who then gave me a tip for going
And no, I didn't reduce my bank account by withdrawing funds from a machine and didn't pay by card for anything - all cash transactions.
That leaves 4 possible things that might have happened I reckon
Name all 4 and get a bonus for guessing which one actually happened

1. You found some money on the floor/ground 2. You were given someone elses change 3. The shop assistant gave you too much change 4. The shop assistant upset you, so you got compensation
Extras...
5. The food was out of date, so you got some discount 6. You won some money on a scratchcard/lottery 7. You did some busking whilst you waited in the queue 8. Santa's Grotto in the shop ....Santa had to pop to the loo, so you quickly took over and he gave you a few quid for helping him out
I could go on and on, but I will choose number 6.

1: you met somebody who owed you more than 38 quid and they paid you.
2: You had a lotto ticket win from Wednesday.
3: You bought a scratch card and won some money.
4: You sold a computer to someone who had asked you about one, the person gave you a deposit and will pick it up later. That sounds the most likely to have happened.
5: Your daughter went insane and gave you 50 quid for a Christmas box.

You met somebody on the way back from the shops who wanted Linux put on their computer and you happen to have a copy of Linux on you (as everybody dose) so you installed it and they gave you lots of money for doing it.
or you did programing for money
robbed a bank?
you won the lottery (as i didn't)

You'll make detectives yet, in fact there were some there I never even thought of
I also didn't...
rob a little old lady who was paying for her taxi
stumble on a drugs deal, beat the dealer senseless and feel gutted he only had £40 on him
or even
find the mythical money tree my mother warned me didn't exist anyway.
Favourite answer so far - Ken's number 5. I was looking for possibilities, not miracles kiddo.
I'll give the others a bit more time and reveal all later - but not literally, it's too cold for that

OK, nobody else seems to want to play, so..... drum roll, fanfare, yawn - here are the answers I had in mind
1... Found it on the street - could have been, I seem very lucky like that. Before the snow hit there was a tenner just lying on my front garden, cheers unlucky person ;o) Best I've ever found is £50 a few years ago
2... Bumped into someone who owed me money - nah, never happens, they always spot me and run
3... Got dragged in to fixing someone's PC and they actually paid - nope, I have done a few jobs ad hoc like that, but not this time
4... Won it gambling - Yes I did, but not on scratch cards or lottery tickets - especially not lottery tickets, that's the worst gamble in the world IMO and I generally avoid them. I won it in the bookies playing roulette.
That makes Lynnrose the winner I think - well done sweetheart
