I braved the weather to make my usual trip to the cattle market and was rewarded with another bargain. There, with an inch of snow on top was a cooler master 'wave master' case just waiting to be grabbed by those who knew it's significance - me I paid £15 for it, which is a bit more than I usually pay, but this was the same stall who sold me the server a few weeks ago so I didn't haggle. It has a 600W PSU and an ASUS motherboard that an Ebay seller is wildly claiming to be the best socket 478 board ever made - well he would with an £80 price tag! Waiting for it to warm up and dry out properly before I see if it works, but I'm not really bothered if it doesn't as I only wanted the trendy case. It's been robbed of it's hard drive(s) RAM and graphics card, but that's no problem, I have plenty of spares. I noticed nobody had added to my 6.10 AM footprints in the snow when I got back at 7.55 AM - idle buggers round my way

I'm not surprised there were no more footprints Mikk, most people have got more sense than to walk up that mountain.
Not a bad old P4 board that, Celeron D was the last processor made for it. Not in the super range, but a good solid base for someone who wants a cheap reliable computer. I think that seller is living in dreams, you can pick them up for about half his 80 quid price tag.

It feels like that sometimes anyway :-p
Well I've tried it now and it didn't go bang at least
It did start talking though ! "System failure CPU test" it chirps, over and over again, well two or three times anyway till I got sick of it.
I took it at it's word and replaced the existing 3.2 CPU with a random socket 478 CPU from my box of "these CPU's are rubbish but might come in handy one day"
I got the same warning message - and yes I did reset the BIOS, I tried that before fitting the other CPU too.
It could be duff too as I randomly throw CPU's in that box that come from dead motherboards where there's a possibility the processor was fried too.
I'll try some more later, but it's the weekend I pick my daughter up, who helps me relieve the burden of carrying too much money about - she's good like that
