www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-11435640The phrase too little too late springs to mind So, sunny Cornwall (population 531, 000) is to get high speed broadband by 2014 - yawn! Hmm, more political rhetoric that is laughable by it's sheer absurdity How is providing Cornwall (population half a million, remember) with high speed broadband a "big step" in a country of 60 million ?! Doesn't that leave an awful lot of work to do in one year - ridiculous. Cornwall, a place where holiday homes probably outnumber the real (all year round) population by a significant number - a place where more than a few politicians have a second (or third) home no doubt. The only thing that showed a glimmer of hope for people on slow connections:That's a sensible and workable idea surely? So why are BT offering insulting amounts to make it happen? Or are Wessex water being too greedy? More clotted cream anyone?

I think the Cornish people should stand their ground, say they want their own government and dont want British government help.
Most of what BT say belongs in the sewer. I think their idea of high speed is to put cable between Exchanges and household speeds are still dependant on distance from the exchange. Diamond Cable spent years putting in cable and connecting up all the houses. I've not seen any sign of BT doing the same thing. The are working on the premise, that most of the general public dont really understand what BB really is. Our government certainly dont, but most of them have the IQ of a Cornish turnip. Give a turnip a laptop and a BB connection and you will probably get more sense out of it. If it does nothing, its 100% better than a politician and it wont have a moat that needs cleaning.
